Dr. L’s Podcast
Captain Hunter’s Podcast is now Dr. L’s Podcast. During the pandemic, I went back to school and completed a doctorate in Leadership. While I still plan to hit on some policing stories, I will mostly pivot to self-improvement topics. Having overcome many mental hurdles, I think it’s time I gave back. I want to help people become the best version of themselves. I also plan to hit on love and relationship topics. Having gone through a divorce and returning to the dating market, I will speak about the mistakes I made along the way and how a mature man looks at dating. Buckle up as we discuss some critical life-changing topics. Hit me up if you have any show suggestions: bigglphd@gmail.com And don’t forget to follow me on Youtube - Dr. L’ Podcast (formerly @bigglphd)

Viral videos, sadly have become all the rage in our modern society. Unfortunately, Youtube and other platforms are filled with the police videos which are continuing to paint officers in the darkest of lights. Recently we saw some outrageous situations involving officers from the Phoenix, AZ PD. These officers were attempting to investigate and control suspects who had allegedly taken a doll from a dollar store. From what we know, their response was over the top and from what can be seen from vidoe, is more like the attempted apprehension of mass murders. Take a listen as a veteran supervisor give s his insights into why these situations continue to happen and how we can put an end to police overreach. in line with the

Monday Jun 10, 2019
Monday Jun 10, 2019
We have often heard those police officers in other countries do not have the same levels of deadly interactions with their citizens that police officers in the US have with its citizens. It is also been rumored that officers in other countries also receive longer training. This longer training may account for greater empathy and better tactics when officers in other countries deal with their citizens. Today's episode we will explore whether there is any truth behind these statements and if true, what can be done to help US officers lessen their deadly encounters and make that citizens and officers survive their interactions.

Warriors vs. Guardians
Monday Apr 15, 2019
Monday Apr 15, 2019
In this episode, we will explore the mindset of many police officers, as they go about their tours of duty. When I was an academy recruit and rookie, senior officers expressed that we should be warriors. They believed we should be ready for battle and have the mindset to deal with any hostility that came our way. Some aspects of this philosophy were good and necessary in on order to get officers prepared for what may lie ahead. Today, there is slow shift in the frame of mind of officers. Instead of being warriors, experts now suggest that we should be guardians. The new guardians focus on help, communication and empathy. We will explore the differences and then you decide which type of officer you want to be. And citizens will decide which type of officer they want to show up at their door.
