Far too often there seems to be a divide between the police and the public. This podcast is dedicated to bridging the gap between police and the communities they serve. As a former law enforcement executive, I will analyze police procedures and give a layman's understanding to the public. I will also review relevant events that are occurring around the U.S. in attempts to give the public some of the reasons why the police may have taken certain courses of action. The goal of this program is to bring all groups together and to work in harmony to make all communities better and more cohesive.

This episode we will be taking a look at women in law enforcement. I plan to do a number of episodes on this topic. We will explore what it is like for female enforcers as they embark on careers as law enforcers. Entering into a male-dominated job along with adopting and changing police culture can be rewarding and challenging. My guests are Sergeant Alexia Castro of the Naugatuck Police Dept. in Naugatuck, CT and Detective Roz Ramirez of the Waterbury Police Dept., also in CT. Thank you to them and their chiefs for their participation in this episode.
