Far too often there seems to be a divide between the police and the public. This podcast is dedicated to bridging the gap between police and the communities they serve. As a former law enforcement executive, I will analyze police procedures and give a layman's understanding to the public. I will also review relevant events that are occurring around the U.S. in attempts to give the public some of the reasons why the police may have taken certain courses of action. The goal of this program is to bring all groups together and to work in harmony to make all communities better and more cohesive.

In this episode, we will explore the role that police unions have played in delaying and outright deterring police reforms. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm all for unions and collective bargaining. I also believe that they should exist in every industry, not just law enforcement. However, in the world of LE, these unions have also served in slowing down the process of police reforms which could only enhance relations with the public. My guest, Jonathan Smith is a Washington based lawyer who will explain how unions have impeded progress in the past. Enjoy the convo!
