Dr. L’s Podcast

Captain Hunter’s Podcast is now Dr. L’s Podcast. During the pandemic, I went back to school and completed a doctorate in Leadership. While I still plan to hit on some policing stories, I will mostly pivot to self-improvement topics. Having overcome many mental hurdles, I think it’s time I gave back. I want to help people become the best version of themselves. I also plan to hit on love and relationship topics. Having gone through a divorce and returning to the dating market, I will speak about the mistakes I made along the way and how a mature man looks at dating. Buckle up as we discuss some critical life-changing topics. Hit me up if you have any show suggestions: bigglphd@gmail.com And don’t forget to follow me on Youtube - Dr. L’ Podcast (formerly @bigglphd)

Let's Talk About You and Me
Friday Dec 13, 2019
Friday Dec 13, 2019
So far we have concentrated mostly on the police and the community relationship. Obviously we will continue to build that relationship, however, it's very important that we take a long hard look at ourselves. I want to build YOU up and make sure that you become the best you that you can be. Strong individuals are the building blocks of strong families that are necessary for strong communities which lead to strong cities. But it all starts with the individual. This will be a new segment that will be released once a week in addition to our normal conversations with those dedicated to police reform. So sit back relax and let's take a look at what it takes to be the best we can be. #policereform #police #lifecoach #lifecoaching #strongcommunities #strongcommunity #community #beabetteryou @cptlhunter #cptlhunter

Monday Dec 02, 2019
Monday Dec 02, 2019
It's the end of another month, therefore, we will take a look at some of the top stories related to PD's and law enforcement. We cannot dive into every story, however, I believe we can learn something from what has occurred in law enforcement around the country. Armed with this information we can continue the path of making the relationship between police and communities more beneficial. #law #lawenforcement #police #policetraining #MarilynMosbyEsq @MarilynMosbyEsq #civilassetforfeiture #marijuanalegalization #chicagopolicesuperintendent #podcast #captainhunterspodcast @cptlhunter

Stay Positive This Holiday Season w/ Zykia McCoy
Sunday Nov 24, 2019
Sunday Nov 24, 2019
This episode we will feature a fellow podcaster, Ms. Zykia McCoy. She is a caterer, business owner, poet, and mother. Despite being hit with many obstacles in life she has decided not to let life get her down. She is remaining positive and fighting the good fight. So many times I talk about the negative relations between the police and the public. However, this episode I thought it would be good to change it up and focus on the good and positive that at least one person is trying to spread all year round. #zykiamccoy #zykiamccoy.com #cookingwithpositivty #cookingwithpositivitypodcast #bethechange #bethechangeyouwanttosee #caterer #catering #ZRZ #ZRZcatering #podcast @cptlhunter @zykiamccoy

Do Black Officers Need Their Own Organizations?
Monday Nov 18, 2019
Monday Nov 18, 2019
Do Black officers need their own unions and fraternal organizations? In this episode, we will explore this dynamic. We will talk about whether these organizations are even necessary in 2019 and beyond. It is my hope that the need for these organizations will decrease. I desire that we will be the post-racial society that so many news outlets claim we are. This episode will be controversial, however, if we are to progress as a country then these types of conversations are necessary. #blackpoliceofficers #blackofficers #blackpolice #police #lawenforcement #BLEAUSA #blacklawenforcement officers

Movie Review - "Black and Blue" w/ L Boogie Jr
Tuesday Nov 12, 2019
Tuesday Nov 12, 2019
Who is L Boogie Jr? She's my favorite daughter. She and I will be starting a new podcast called The L Boogie Show very soon. This episode will appear on both podcasts. I thought it would be nice to get a younger non-police personnel's perspective as they viewed a movie about police corruption and to see how some people in society view the police. I also wanted to see if and how the media influences society's perspective on the police. The conversation was great and be on the lookout for The L-Boogie Show. #BlackandBlue #blackandbluemovie #moviereview #police #policecorruption #lawenforcement #fatherdaughtertime #tyresegibson #naomieharris #frankgrillo #cptlhunter

Autism Awareness w/ Helen Taylor
Sunday Nov 03, 2019
Sunday Nov 03, 2019
Today most of us have some awareness of autism and other challenges that inhibit some people's social skills. Today's episode we will explore what autism is and how many police officers are receiving training on how to deal with persons dealing with these challenges. It is important for vulnerable populations to be heard and understood. Fortunately, there are advocates like Ms. Helen Taylor, who is on the front lines disseminating information and championing their cause. #autism #autismspeaks #ActJams #police #laweenforcement #vulnerablecitizens #autismawareness #spectrum #autismspeakswalk #westernCTwalk #focuscenterofcanton #CTFEAT #thelettercritters.com
