Dr. L’s Podcast
Captain Hunter’s Podcast is now Dr. L’s Podcast. During the pandemic, I went back to school and completed a doctorate in Leadership. While I still plan to hit on some policing stories, I will mostly pivot to self-improvement topics. Having overcome many mental hurdles, I think it’s time I gave back. I want to help people become the best version of themselves. I also plan to hit on love and relationship topics. Having gone through a divorce and returning to the dating market, I will speak about the mistakes I made along the way and how a mature man looks at dating. Buckle up as we discuss some critical life-changing topics. Hit me up if you have any show suggestions: bigglphd@gmail.com And don’t forget to follow me on Youtube - Dr. L’ Podcast (formerly @bigglphd)

Sunday Jan 05, 2020
Sunday Jan 05, 2020
The opioid crisis has been ravaging the country for quite some time now. But the reaction to the flooding of dangerous drugs into communities has not always garnered the best of responses. And those differing responses, of criminalizing vs care, have been based upon the communities which were hit. In this episode, we will explore the differences in reactions to the opioid crisis vs the crack crisis of the 1980s. Dr. Kanika Turner will shed light on what she and other doctors are doing to combat this growing problem. @cptlhunter #cptlhunter #opioidcrisis #opioidepidemic #opiods #harmreduction #overdose #druglegalization #marijuanalegalization #drugs #police #lawenforcement #decriminalization #legalization

Are Police Unions the Real Problem? w/ Atty Jonathon M. Smith
Sunday Dec 15, 2019
Sunday Dec 15, 2019
In this episode, we will explore the role that police unions have played in delaying and outright deterring police reforms. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm all for unions and collective bargaining. I also believe that they should exist in every industry, not just law enforcement. However, in the world of LE, these unions have also served in slowing down the process of police reforms which could only enhance relations with the public. My guest, Jonathan Smith is a Washington based lawyer who will explain how unions have impeded progress in the past. Enjoy the convo! #lawenforcement #police #policeunions #policerealtions #community relations #@cptlhunter #cptlhunter #collectivebargaining #Washington Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights and Urban Affairs #Jonathon M. Let's Talk About You and Me
Friday Dec 13, 2019
Friday Dec 13, 2019
So far we have concentrated mostly on the police and the community relationship. Obviously we will continue to build that relationship, however, it's very important that we take a long hard look at ourselves. I want to build YOU up and make sure that you become the best you that you can be. Strong individuals are the building blocks of strong families that are necessary for strong communities which lead to strong cities. But it all starts with the individual. This will be a new segment that will be released once a week in addition to our normal conversations with those dedicated to police reform. So sit back relax and let's take a look at what it takes to be the best we can be. #policereform #police #lifecoach #lifecoaching #strongcommunities #strongcommunity #community #beabetteryou @cptlhunter #cptlhunter

Monday Dec 02, 2019
It's the end of another month, therefore, we will take a look at some of the top stories related to PD's and law enforcement. We cannot dive into every story, however, I believe we can learn something from what has occurred in law enforcement around the country. Armed with this information we can continue the path of making the relationship between police and communities more beneficial. #law #lawenforcement #police #policetraining #MarilynMosbyEsq @MarilynMosbyEsq #civilassetforfeiture #marijuanalegalization #chicagopolicesuperintendent #podcast #captainhunterspodcast @cptlhunter
